Bio: Franta Belsky was a Czech sculptor of large-scale abstract works, iconographic statues and portrait busts. She sculpted portrait busts of four generations of the royal family, as well as many large sculptures of the great and good. She believed in sharing her work with the public to ‘lift spirits’, which include Lord Mountbatten (1983), Horse Guards Parade, London. ”Triga’ (1958), Knightsbridge, London. ‘Torsion Fountain (1959), Shell Building, London.

Provenance: Bought from The Sculpture Park Sale, Sworders, 2023.
